New Floyd Rose Original and Compatibility with KTS Ti-Block

As already announced on the official Floyd Rose website and SNS, the company has changed the specifications of the bridge saddle of the German-made Floyd Rose Original Tremolo System. For the first time in the company's 40-year history, the manufacturing method has been changed from casting to CNC (Computer Numerical Control) cutting. This allows for consistent dimensional accuracy, precise functionality, and the beautiful appearance that only machining can provide.

As a result of the change to the cutting process, the four corners of the box where the insert block is inserted have the so-called corner radius of the cutting tool. This means that if you use the old type of insert block with a square cross section, including our Ti-Block, the corners of the block will come in contact with the corner radius, and there will be a small gap between the block and the saddle. This can cause the strings to fall out, especially with plain strings. For this reason, the standard steel insert block has been modified so that the two corners that come in contact with the strings are rounded to match the corners of the box. (See image below)

As of June 2021, most of the Floyd Rose Tremolo guitars on the market are either old standard or non-German made such as Special Series and 1000 Series (excluding Pro), so you can continue to use the current Ti-Block without any problems. However, Floyd Rose has already started shipping the new Floyd Rose tremolo with new saddles. The Floyd Rose Tremolo, which will be installed in high-end guitars and other models sold separately, will be the new standard, so there will be a mixture of the old and new standards for a while.

If you are planning to purchase a new model guitar with Floyd Rose and are considering upgrading to our Ti-Block, please refer to the image above and check the shape of the insert block before purchasing. We are currently developing the New Ti-Block, which will be compatible with both the new and old standards, and will be available in the market after this fall. As soon as the current Ti-Blocks are out of stock, we will switch to the New Ti-Block. If your Floyd Rose turns out to be the new type, please refrain from upgrading to the current Ti-Block for the time being.

The Ti-Block is a certified Floyd Rose upgrade, and we apologize for the delay in getting it to you. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we will continue to provide better products in the future.
